What Kind of Company We Want to Be in Ten Years
Not the largest, but the most trustworthy engineering team in the region.
Every year we hold a strategy discussion, and it always returns to one question: what kind of company do we want to be. We have argued about scale, profit and fame, and what remains is a plain sentence.
Three concrete goals
A stable team of twenty to thirty people, growing deliberately, with a senior owner on every project.
Two or three reusable industry solutions, so new projects do not start from zero.
A renewal rate above eighty percent, making reputation the primary source of new work.
Things we will not do
No bidding wars, no projects beyond our ability, no mergers for the sake of size.
We will not turn the team into a pure outsourcing line, because that costs us judgement.
If we are still here in ten years, we hope peers describe us as a company that keeps its word. That is harder to earn than any ranking.
