The Compound Interest of Reputation
A satisfied client brings the next one, provided they can explain clearly what you solved.
More than half of our projects come from existing clients or referrals. That is not luck; it is something we work on every year. In the early days we had no idea why clients recommended us.
Why clients recommend
After asking a dozen referred clients, the answers were consistent: not that our engineering was the best, but that we did what we said we would.
The second most common reason was that we do not dodge responsibility. After one production incident we were on site the same day and delivered a full report within a week; that client later referred two projects.
Three things we do
Call three months after delivery to ask how it is working, with no sales agenda.
Turn each delivery into a one-page case study with context, approach and outcome, so clients can retell it.
Thank clients explicitly for referrals and reflect it in real terms on the next project.
Reputation is not advertised, it is accumulated project by project. It compounds slowly and almost without limit.
